NIU

I'm sure that most of you have heard, but there was a horrible shooting at Northern Illinois University. Well, that is where I am from...I lived maybe 20 minutes from the university, my high school held our proms there, we would go out to DeKalb all of the time for stuff. I know so many people who attend that school. My heart is broken for the fact that this happened so close to home, that innocent people were killed. My heart hurts even more for the fact that I am no longer there. It's difficult to process because I can't be there, I feel so distanced from it yet so close to it at the same time so that I don't know how to process this. Nobody else really understands the situation, because it hasn't happened to them. And I would never wish it to. But I guess it just makes it hard to process. Everyone always says, oh it happens to everyone else, but it won't ever happen to me. Well guess what? That's so wrong. NIU was nestled in such a quiet, peaceful community, and look what happened?

I feel as if my space has been invaded, something personal has been stolen.

And there are two things I'm struggling with the most...Why? Why in the world would somebody do this? Or how, even?

And...How in the world am I, is anyone at NIU or the surrounding area, is any of the friends and family of the victims, to forgive this man?

Lord, I know that you take every bad thing and work it for the good of Your people. How will you do so now? Please help me, my friends, friends and family of the victims, the community, help us all to trust you in this.

Haha, hey! Yes, I noticed that. Lately, I haven't had much time for it either, really. Sadly, I haven't had much time to take photos either. :( Oh, I will definitely check out that link, thanks!!

How are you? I'm good! I moved to Florida, and I've got a full time job now. Still going to school, only part time though.
